The Simplera Sync™ sensor is an all-in-one, disposable continuous glucose monitor (CGM) that works with the MiniMed™ 780G system to automatically manage diabetes by adjusting insulin delivery based on real-time glucose readings every five minutes. It offers a simpler, 2-step application process, a smaller size than previous Medtronic sensors, and eliminates the need for transmitter changes or fingersticks for calibration, though a fingerstick is still needed in manual mode or if symptoms don’t match readings. The system also includes Meal Detection™ technology to automatically deliver extra insulin for forgotten or underestimated meals.
