An infusion set includes the thin plastic tubing that delivers insulin from the pump to your body. This tubing comes in different lengths to accommodate various needs. At the end of the tubing is either a soft, flexible cannula or a stainless steel needle. The cannula, which is a small, tapered tube, is inserted under your skin in a spot such as your abdomen, thigh or buttocks. This spot is called your infusion site, and the infusion set remains in place for up to two or three days.
MiniMed Quick-set® infusion set
The MiniMed Quick-set infusion set is our most popular infusion set. This 90°, soft cannula infusion set combines ease of use with maximum comfort. The MiniMed Quick-serter® may be used to easily and comfortably insert the cannula under your skin.
The MiniMed Quick-set is available in four tubing lengths and two cannula lengths. The 6mm length cannula is most suitable for lean individuals and is available in 18″, 23″, 32″, and 43″ lengths. The 9mm cannula is recommended for everyone else and is available in 23″, 32″, and 43″ lengths.
MiniMed Quick-serter®
The MiniMed Quick-serter is the insertion device for the MiniMed Quick-set and MiniMed Pro-set infusion sets and helps to make insertions quick and easy. We’ve designed the MiniMed Quick-serter to provide:
- Comfortable, less-painful insertions
- Consistent insertion depth every time for optimal insulin absorption
- Easier insertion in awkward, hard-to-reach infusion sites
MiniMed Silhouette® infusion set
The MiniMed Silhouette infusion set is a soft cannula infusion set that can be inserted at a variety of angles. Ideal for those insulin pump users who are lean or live an active lifestyle, the MiniMed Silhouette infusion set offers comfort and flexibility by allowing you to choose your insertion angle.
The MiniMed Silhouette infusion set is available in 4 tubing lengths and 2 cannula lengths. The 13mm cannula is available in 18″, 23″, 32″, and 43″ lengths; the 17mm cannula is available in 23″, 32″, and 43″ lengths.
MiniMed Sil-serter®
The MiniMed Sil-serter insertion device is designed for use only with the MiniMed Silhouette infusion set. The MiniMed Sil-serter allows you to insert the MiniMed Silhouette infusion set with just the press of a button. The MiniMed Sil-serter provides:
- Comfortable, less-painful insertions
- Consistent insertion depth every time for optimal insulin absorption
- Easier insertion in awkward, hard-to-reach infusion sites
MiniMed Sure-T® infusion set
This steel needle infusion set has an extra adhesive pad for a more secure connection. The MiniMed Sure-T infusion set is a very fine 29 gauge needle and is intended for insulin pump users who prefer using a needle to infuse their insulin rather than a cannula.
The simplicity and enhanced security of MiniMed Sure-T make it a good choice for infants, children, adults, and women during pregnancy. It comes in 3 tubing lengths and 3 cannula lengths. The 6mm cannula is available in 18″, 23″, and 32″ lengths; the 8mm cannula is available in 23″ and 32″ lengths; and the 10mm cannula is available in 32″ length tubing.
MiniMed™ Mio™ Advance Infusion Set
The MiniMed™ Mio™ Advance Infusion Set is designed with a pre-loaded inserter for quicker and easier set changes that require fewer steps. Works with all major insulin pump brands with luer-lock or MiniMed™ connections including Medtronic, Roche and Animas®
